MONTH BY MONTH SUMMARY OF FISHING OFF WAUKEGAN HARBOR

APRIL through MAY

Coho-Mania is in full swing with the arrival of warmer weather.

Fast action begins this time of the year with many limits of Coho,

on almost every trip. Fisherman planning a trip this time of year

can definitely expect to experience some of the fastest fishing they

ever saw. Cohos range from 3-7 pounds. Many good sized

Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout are also caught during this

Coho-mania time of year.

JUNE through JULY:

By now summer is in full swing. Not only do we have beautiful

weather on the lake but, also we are still continuing to have very

excellent catches for this time of year. During these summer

months the lake produces a variety of catches. Coolers bulging

with King Salmon, Coho, Brown Trout, Steelhead and the ever

present Lake Trout. With many customers returning back with

there catches averaging over 20 fish per trip!

AUGUST through September

As the summer heat is slowly fading away and the cool

temperatures of the fall begin to settle in, this begins some of the

most memorable fishing trips you may ever have !! This time of

year brings mature Kings closer to shore. The largest King

Salmon of the year (20-30 pounds) are also prominent now.

Many customers of mine have returned , back to the

dock with stories of busted tackle, bent hooks and many

tales of the one that got away. With a chance at a Trophy King

make sure to bring along your camera. You will have a chance

to experience what King fishing in Lake Michigan is all about !

OCTOBER

As the summer heat is slowly fading away and the cool

temperatures of the fall begin to settle in, this begins some of the

most memorable fishing trips you may ever have !! This time of

year brings mature Lake Trout within striking distance. Many

of these fish are over 20 pounds and three feet long. We may

have to travel to deeper water to get to these fish on their

spawning grounds so be sure to book an 8 hour trip for the day.

Many limit trips of lake trout are found during October.
